so i typed in rap music to see what some people would say about it. and of course they had nothing good to say. i will agree with you naggers, the content of wich they speak of is basically garbage. but for people like me, music lover, rap music is a very great form of music. so what if the rapper doesnt play the guitar or the drums, we got machines to do that for us. think about it. alot of geezers cant accpet the fact that there is skilled involved in rapping, and producing a good quality rap song. they know not of the matter they speak of. yet they judge. honestly i would say that they are just hating on the rappers for bieng wealthy, wich honestly alot of them are, they might not as be as wealthy as they might protrait, but they are, you wanna know why? because your grand kids love theire music. hip hop is a more then music, its a lifestyle. look at alot of other musicians and all there drug abuses. disco is dead, 60's soul didnt survive, and the 80's dance didnt stand a chance,

i will say something.. rap use to be fun and exciting.. a way to bring people together .. but now all of it sounds the same .. its just so full of it.. ..lets steal someones song and melody and speak some lame words to it.. gimme a break
what idiot said rap music is garbage...yea shut the fu ck up. Rap music is art, the lyrics SOME of these rappers spit are intellectually stimulating, filled with metaphors and slick rhetoric. Now i am aware of the fact that alot of commercial rappers do rap about nonsense like money cars hoes etc, this is obviously for entertainment and usually these meaningless songs have catchy beats so the words dont even matter. 2pac for example is an excellent poet, i personally listen to immortal technique an underground rapper, who is probably 100 times smarter than the people that dont appreciate his music. I wouldnt call any genre of music stupid because that statement in of itself shows narrowmindedness and stupidity. I listen to everything and appreaciate the poetry and story that all music has to tell.
well I respect all musicians because there is no way the normal person could easily pile up hit after hit like some of these rap stars. personally i am a classic rock fan, however i have a deep respect for the rap stars out there who try their hardest to put out their best efforts to cd.

i don't know why people think that rap is so bad. if you look at any other genres they all talk about sex, drugs, alcohol, and violence. they might not curse as much or use the vulgar language, but you can hear it in every genre---country, rock, pop, latin, acoustic..all the genres. so people should stop hating and just respect everyone's artistic abilites.
personally Im 18 and hate rap, it talks about stupid things and just sounds like angry techno to me. Nothing against anybody who likes it but that problem is not just for old people. I have friends who hate it and those who dont. But quit worrying about what other people think of your music and just listen to what you like.
I agree with you that rappers have the ability to keep a rhythm and tone and pitch to the electrically generated music that they are rapping to. I personally love classic rock, which also is a lifestyle and will never be forgotten or die. It puts a smile on my face. I'm willing to be that you are listening to rap right now just as I am listening to Led Zeppelin. If you enjoy rap music as much as you claim to, why have you chosen to show us all a horrible scowl across your avatars face, implying that this life you claim to be living produces a pissed off feeling?
i must say, mainstream rap is indeed AWFUL and DEGRADING. but give me someone underground and its pure poetry. i think rap can only be successful when its true, and talking about bitches and hoes, isnt going to earn any respect.
we get bagged in Australia if you like rap and hip hop and not get into rocknroll and metal. but the sampler was invented in Australia! the electric guitar was invented in America! so wheres the issue? rappers are talented! Crew like Hilltop Hoods, Drapht, Pegz and all the Obese Records crew are tearing it up in Australia!! and good on them, and hey i'd like to see their critics do any better!
I'll be speaking about the commercial rap you hear on the radio these days. Rap music to me is far too explicit. Too much language, rediculous content, lack of depth, very superficial. This is why I'm hot- by mims is a good example of the kind of rap that just gives the genre a label. Its content is absolute rubbish. Rappers like 50-cent rap about very unimportant themes. He raps about things like one night stands, being rich, being "da sh1t". And its all about bein in "da club". Too much explicit content and too much cool. Talking about drinking champagne, being a "roller' or "balla". Its very superficial and trashy. 0 class. Not to mention how it degrades women...

I think that Rap is misunderstood. A lot of people say that they hate it for whatever reason. My friend HATED Rap until he heard Lupe. Most people that hate Rap for the subject matter think that all Rap is the same. Then u have others that hate Rap because they think that all of the Artist can't play an instrument. Others are jealous that Rappers make money. I know that the mainstream Rap artist stick to people that only rely on what the media chooses to show them, so of course they believe that all Rap is the same (bitches, money and hoes). Weird, but some people just don't get it.
