Pure Rap

Anyone else happy about the death of popular gangsta rap and southern hip hop?

It seems the only top-charters for a while have been dance and electropop music. I've even the noticed the hip hop bands switch over to electro/electronic music. House and techno seem to be gaining ground here, as well. This'll be interesting to watch...

  1. yes yes yes.. i cant stand hip-hop.
  2. Hip hop isn't dead just laying low trends shift in and out of society and culture it will most likely return as new music becomes bland and familiar ppl like new and interesting and stuff will start to get old once more
  3. this is true but for one evil you must trade another. (cough screamo cough) it's like we can never have a time with just good genres around here. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AsCRuHQY4SYTFWhmkip5KZfsy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20090426190955AAAz0U7
  4. hopefully it will die out, as did disco. but i don't believe it will end this clean. i believe we still have many continuing years of it left to endure.
  5. When one trend is over in the mainstream an equally worthless and annoying one will take its place before you know. Hip hop has really been around since the late 80's in mainstream so I wouldn't kiss it goodbye just yet.
  6. I rejoice, I always hated rap and hip hop I, however, love dance/electronica, so yay!
  7. I'm happy about that as well :0) And you know? I actually like techno/electronica... reminds me of rave's that I used to partake in back when I was a teenager. *sheepish face*
  8. It's fantastical! At least with Electronic music artist can be a bit more experimental and you get a bit more creativity, I'm not much of a dance fan but as far as I'm concerned anything beats rap and hip hop :)
  9. i'm happy about the death of ALL hip-hop. hey maybe it can take r&b with it?!! metal forever!!
