Pure Rap

No offense intended:Is american gangsta rap culture to blame for the rise of gang crime in europe?

If you look at these gang members in europe(especially here in the UK) they seem to behave like the american gangsters and hip hop stars you see on tv,just look at the way they dress and act. It's getting ridiculous bandannas, gang signs,New Era hats, saggy jeans and the frequent use of the N word(in both black and white gangs).

  1. If there wasn't gangster rap there would be something else, get serious please.
  2. yes it is. they are copying american styles. They even have bloods and crips there now!
  3. Um, i'm not a big fan of the "gangsta culture" thing either, but how could a music/clothing style create a rise in crime in a faraway land? Interest in foreign cultures don't make people do crime, crime is [usually] caused by poverty and a desperate and immediate lack of resources. MAYBE it could be the cause of kids in your country trying to dress and talk like the ghetto youth in the USA, but causing a rise in crime rates is a completely different story. ____________________ (BTW: Baggy/Sagging Jeans are loooooong out of style here in the USA; they have been out of style. Skinny jeans are in.)
  4. Hah no. If you pay attention you'll find that our musical stylings is based more on continental european genres than american. Cocoguy; Yes, foreign cultures DO cause a rise in crime in other cultures. Look at the opium wars of the colonial era, for example. Or think about illegal immigration, if you must.
  5. I live in a city of 3 million in the US. We have no gangs. Never really had a problem except for graffiti from the wannabees. Look elsewhere for excuses for your ill behaved youth. >?<
  6. Chester,i'm pleased that somebody else realizes whats going on,an english family have moved in up the road, they are selling crack to the kids of the village,i have already been on to the guards and they are watching them! Plus they do wear bandannas!
  7. Sure why not? Since Europeans always blame all their problems on Americans anyway lol..
  8. American culture has influenced Europe since the end of the Second World War, and it keeps being one of the most important sources of inspiration for music, style of clothes and social culture among young people. It happens because American culture is perceived as prestigious: nobody himitates the clothes of an Arabic population, and not because Europeans hate Arabs, but because they are not a leading culture in this moment. If American artists would start wearing a veil, Europeans would do it in a short time as well. This appeal of American culture has resisted the anti-American wave which manifested itself particularly after the war in Afghanistan. Many Europeans have a bad opinion of America as a country but don't realize they are soaked of that culture. To go back to your question, criminals are just criminals. They may dress like 50 Cent but this doesn't make them a product of American criminal culture. They keep acting criminally according to their national tradition (e.g. mafia in Italy or Albania) and their historical context (e.g. trafficking in people, which is very in fashion all over Europe). They haven't been told by American culture to go and kill people, they only found some signs of belonging in those outfits.
  9. No ofense taken, but the answer is NO
  10. @Applehunter your retarded for mentioning drugs and music as equal foreign influences it's people like you that would lock up Enimen for being too negatively influential to whites yet ignore the real gangsta that no one likes to talk about. The White Collar Criminals and corrupt politician who doesn't need a bandanna or gang signs to extort your money and ruin society
